We can appear in tribunals and courts acting in prosecutions, merits and judicial review proceedings.
We can appear in person or brief counsel. We have sound knowledge of court practice and procedure having acted for government departments and bodies as well as for individuals in the past.
We have expertise appearing before the Building Appeals Board in matters relating to combustible cladding, protection works matters, appeals from decisions to issue notices and orders and from refusals to consent by local councils and fire authorities. We have also had carriage of many VCAT matters defending decisions of regulators and Boards.
We generally do not act in civil disputes for owners, builders and other parties at VCAT or in Courts. An exception is in relation to some protection works matters before the Building Appeals Board.
